We’re a team of skillful, loving Comadres! (and Compadres!)

Our mission is to create and provide a range of opportunities and services within the intersecting fields of health, education and social action to support a more resilient and empowered populace.

Through our women’s shelter, community library, herbal farm and apothecary, and the events we host, we offer places where people can be inspired, be engaged, care and be cared for.

Connection and love are at the heart of what we do and why we do it. When people feel seen and supported, cycles of harm lose their power. When we learn and practise together, resilience takes root. And when the community is strengthened, everyone has a better chance to thrive.

What we do

We create and co-create opportunities to engage, learn, support, and be supported within the community.

Through Casula (our sanctuary), our library, apothecary, farm, events, and collective action, we build an ecosystem where everyone can thrive. Being a Comadre means:

- Donating to sustain the work

- Volunteering your time and skills

- Attending our events and gatherings

- Visiting our library

- Partnering your organization with us

- Or simply reading this, resonating, and spreading the message

All forms of participation matter equally.

Why we do it

Abuse and violence don't just hurt individual women; they fracture community connection and belonging.

We work because:

✓ Everyone deserves to live with dignity, beauty, and hope

✓ Healing happens in community, not isolation

✓ Cycles of abuse break when women are supported collectively

✓ Communities become more resilient when we care for each other

This is hope in action.
